AMELANCHIER arborea ´Robin Hill´

6-8 (10) m tall and 3-5 m wide, already prior to 1970 at ROBIN HILL ARBORETUM, Lyndonville, New York selected large shrub or small tree; crown broad ovate later roundish; leaves 3-7 cm long, inverted egg-shaped to oval, white woolly shoots, spectacular autumn colors from yellow to light red; flowers in March/April, pink buds flourish pure white, star-shaped, fragrant in overhanging grapes; small, black-purple, edible berries from June –  little crowned tree that deserves much more attention, a valuable, hardy, windproof and city climate resistant ornamental, ideally suited for close quarters, courtyards, little gardens, planters and roof greening, at the GALK avenue tree test rated with “good”. BI, H, K, S, St. Zone 5a.
