Vaccinium
Strong berries
Vaccinium corymbosum, known as the cultivated blueberry, is healthy and delicious. Studies on the health value of blueberries have produced astonishing findings. This is a great opportunity that all fruit growers should use to promote their fresh market product in order to further expand the market potential.
Blueberry plants are crops that are productive for around 20-25 years. They are harvested from July to September. In the full yield phase, average yields of around ten tons/hectare can be expected. They are hardy, less susceptible to diseases and pests and only require a suitable location.
The decision for a variety is influenced by many factors. Every fruit farm is a very individual location due to its climatic conditions, soil requirements, cultivation and harvesting as well as marketing strategies. In addition, climate change and changes in cultivation methods will shape the appearance of future plantations.
In order to meet these requirements, we are constantly optimizing our range of plants. This includes both tried-and-tested and new, promising varieties.
