HIPPOPHAE rhamnoides ´Sirola´Ⓢ

A rather robust cultivar with columnar growing habit, only slightly thorny, and few root runners; hybrid by H.-J. ALBRECHT, Berlin, originating out of a cross between a Siberian cultivar and H. r. Pollmix; fruits large (100 fruits = 52 g), longish oval to cylindrical, silver-grey scales found only at the tip, red-orange, pleasantly sweet, fruit stalks rather long, allowing easy picking, ripening end July to early August. A cultivar that is highly recommended for private gardens due to its fruit colours, pleasant taste and early ripeness. D, H, St. Zone 4. Under federal protection SAN 10. Protected cultivar – unauthorised propagation prohibited!
