At the U.S. National Arboretum developed variety; very compact growth, well branched, up to 90 cm tall and 1.20 cm wide; dark green leaves are 8-20 cm long, turn in autumn to a striking mahogany red; Flowers in cone-shaped to round, up to 16 cm long panicles, initially white, later Pink, nicely above the foliage standing, from July to September. -a robust, small flowering shrub, whose attractiveness is still enhanced by the extraordinary leaves.
